The following are songs (or song fragments) that are not yet fully realized.
Arkansas
This song reminds me of a style Michael Penn would employ: a lilting melody over a dominant seventh. The lyrics offered in the tab are just ideas.
It would work nicely as an overture for "Garden".
Here is a tab for the guitar part and here is an mp3.
Mulligan Stew
This song is only really started. It needs lyrics. I seems, to me, quite like a song that would be in "The Music Man."
Here is a tab for the guitar part, and here is an mp3.
Steampunk Overture
This harmonic-rich 14-bar "overture" ends on a G chord, and is a good optional lead-in for a song that perhaps starts on the same. For instance, I think it is a nice prefix for Keychain.
Here is a tab for the guitar part and here is an mp3.
Falling in Love
This is a maturation of "Mulligan Stew" above.
You just can't miss with a vibraphone. Here is an mp3.
Walk Like a Cowboy
A surprisingly promising parody of "Walk Like an Egyptian", c. 1990. Recorded at the end of Loomis Street, Cambridge.
Take 1 and Take 2 with sound effects.
Spy Symphony
A song fragment reminiscent of James Bond themes.
Take 1 and Take 2 (too ornate, I feel).
Take 1 Heavy and Take 2 Heavy - good ideas within both
Flight for the Border
A canvas for improvisation suggesting a desperate flight.
Work in Progress Take 1 and Take 2 with Joel Bassuk on drums in 73 (?) Little Hall, Princeton.
